Parvotex Agility, Baihoo's latest collection of fabrics, has introduced unprecedented stretchability in flame-retardant (FR) fabrics. Stretchability has always been a challenge for FR fabrics, with knitted fabrics being more stretchable but less durable than woven fabrics. FR knit fabrics have been popular in the market for their soft skin-touch and breathability, but their application is limited, and there is a growing demand for stretchable FR woven fabrics.
When searching for FR fabrics, two options are available: FR treated and inherent FR, each with its advantages and disadvantages. Depending on clients' needs, Baihoo offers both options with better stretchability.
Inherent FR fabrics are known for their lifelong flame-retardant properties due to their use of naturally fire-resistant fibers. A stretchable fabric based on inherent FR fabrics has been developed, with a hand stretch rate of up to 18% and an arc flash rate of CAT 2. This fabric is inherently flame-retardant and high visibility yellow.
Flame-retardant treated fabrics have been used for a long time and have a mature manufacturing process that reduces costs and provides stable fire resistance. New opportunities for environmental sustainability have also emerged, with recycled cotton and polyester now being used in FR-treated fabrics. Both materials are certified by the Global Recycle Standard. High-visibility orange is only available for FR-treated fabrics due to limitations in the dyeing process.
Parvotex Agility's stretchability represents a significant step forward for FR workwear, making it more sustainable and comfortable. Protective workwear is no longer just a garment that wearers put on at work, but also clothing they can wear in their daily lives.
All of Parvotex Agility fabrics are certified by UL and CE.
